Stranger Things ends after the fifth season. The makers of the popular Netflix series, the brother’s Matt and Ross Duffer, let us know via an open letter. They also gave away more details about the fourth season that will be released this year.
The fourth season will appear in two parts, the Duffer brothers say. The first part will premiere on May 27, followed by the second part on July 1. There’s a good reason for the split, as season four episodes last twice as long as previous seasons episodes. Due to the corona pandemic, the shooting of the fourth season was delayed, as a result of which fans have been waiting for the new episodes for more than two years.

“Seven years ago we planned the full storyline for ‘Stranger Things. At the time we already assumed that the story would last four to five seasons,” the Duffer brothers write in an open letter. “It turned out to be too long to do in four seasons, but – as you can see – we are heading towards the end. Season 4 will be the penultimate season, season 5 will be the last.”
There's no date yet on Stranger Things season 5 but the rumors are true and it will end this story arc.
