Thailand recorded 41 new Covid19 fatalities, a new record of daily fatalities and 2,455 new infections in the past 24 hours, the health ministry reported Wednesday morning.
The new cases include 1976 among common people and 479 among prisoners. In the past 24 hours, 2,571 patients have been recovered and discharged from hospitals.
In the third wave of Covid-19 from April 1, the total number of cases rose to 109,031 and 64,339 patients recovered. The death toll rose to 779.
From the start of the Covid19 pandemic in Thailand early last year, the death toll soared to 873 and the number of accumulated infections reached 137,894.
The previous record of daily fatalities was 34 on May 12, when there were 1,983 new Covid-19 infections.
