A Nigerian man has been arrested in Bang Khun Khunthian district with 7,000 ecstasy pills in his possession. He is said to have sold the drugs in nightclubs.

Paschal Nwaenyi, 38, was arrested earlier this week outside a building in the Eua-arthon 2 residential area in the Tha Kham area of Bang Khunthian, said Colonel Piyarat Suparat, head of the Patrol and Special Operations Division, also known as the 191 police.

7,140 ecstasy pills, two mobile phones and a car belonging to Totoya Altis were seized from the suspect.

The arrest was made after police received information that members of a large foreign drug gang in Bang Khunthian had rented a house in Tha Kham to store and sell illegal drugs to customers at nightlife venues on Rama II Road, Colonel Piyarat said. .

Detectives who searched the man’s room on the second floor of the building found the drugs in plastic bags hidden in camera boxes.

The suspect denied any involvement in the drug trade. But a police investigation revealed that the gang had bought drugs from a trafficker and sold them to visitors to nightlife spots in the area.

Mister Nwaenyi was handed over to the anti-drug brigade for further legal action.
