There is no need to impose a lockdown on the capital, Bangkok, as most Covid19 infections discovered in the city have mild symptoms, Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said.
He spoke about the Covid19 situation yesterday after attending a meeting with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
Anutin said the spread of the virus in prisons and construction sites could be limited by closing the areas and setting up field hospitals to treat patients based on their symptoms.
He went on to say that 70 per cent of Covid19 patients in the country had mild symptoms, 20 per cent were at risk from chronic conditions, while 10 per cent had developed severe symptoms.
“The government will also allocate vaccines to patients in prisons,” he said.
