Temperatures in Thailand’s northern and north-eastern regions are dropping 3-5°C as of today, due to
an intense high pressure cell covering the two regions and the central plains, according to the
Meteorological Department’s weather forecast today.

Bangkok and its suburbs, as well as the rest of the central plains and the east, are also experiencing
colder weather and strong winds, with the mercury dipping 1-3°C.

The Matmo tropical storm has already been downgraded to a low pressure cell over Cambodia and is
moving west toward Thailand’s north-eastern province of Buri Ram. This will bring thunder storms and
strong winds in the lower north-east, the East and lower central regions.

Provinces affected by the low pressure today include Nakhon Ratchasima and Buri Ram in the
Northeast, Ang Thong, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom,
Samut Songkram, Samut Sakhon, Bangkok and its surrounding areas, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa
Kaew, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan,
Chumpon, Ranong and Phang-nga in the South.

For tomorrow, the low pressure will affect Bangkok and its peripherals and the provinces of Suphan
Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkram, Samut Sakhon, Phetchaburi and
Prachuap Khiri Khan.

The southern region will face more rain due to the shift of the north-eastern monsoon, with choppy seas
to be expected in the Gulf.
