A care home in Taiwan apologizes for hiring strippers for their residents. Images circulating on social media show scantily clad strippers entertaining the seniors, many of whom are in wheelchairs, by dancing intimately for them and kissing them. The institution says in a response that it regrets organizing the ‘group activity’.

The Taouan Veterans Home Nursing Home organized the activity to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a traditional festival celebrated in Chinese culture that marks the start of the wheat and rice harvesting season.

One of the residents filmed the group activity and uploaded the images to social media. It didn’t take long for the video to go viral. The footage shows a stripper lying on the ground in front of the residents with her legs in the air. She then gives a resident, who is parked in his wheelchair, a lap dance.

After the dancer is dancing defiantly with her bosom against the man’s face, the resident places his hands on her breasts. With music playing in the background, the action is loudly applauded and encouraged by the nursing home staff. The lady then grabs the man’s arm and guides his hand from her breasts over her body to her genitals. She ends the session by giving the man a kiss on the top of his head.

The state-run facility for retired military personnel came under heavy fire after the viral video. In a response to Liberty Times Net, the facility said it had misjudged the situation beforehand. “The intent of the event was to entertain and make residents happy. We are deeply sorry for the situation we have caused.”

A spokesperson for the care home went on to say that certain movements of the dancers were “too enthusiastic and too intimate” and that they realize they need to be “more careful” when planning future events.
