As a result of the renewed Covid-19 outbreak in Pattaya, Mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem announced on Friday that the Pattaya city government has cancelled all official Songkran festivities in Naklua and Pattaya at short notice.

Both the traditional Pattaya-Na Kluea Wan Lai Festival on Sunday (April 18, 2021) at Lan Pho Park in Naklua has been cancelled as well as the Songkran ceremony scheduled next Monday at Wat Chai Mongkol in South Pattaya and the Buddhist tambun ceremony Na Kluea Kong Khao Fair were cancelled on Tuesday (April 20, 2021) at Lan Pho Park in Naklua.

But that’s not all!

Also, Pattaya Music Festival 2021, which should take place over four weekends from the end of April to mid-May 2021, has fallen victim to Corona.

For the time being, the kites will continue to fly through the air during the Pattaya Kite on the Beach Festival 2021 (April 9 to April 19, 2021), and the food and culture festival on Pattaya’s Beach Road will be maintained, as both festivals are held outside and at relatively spacious locations where social distance is possible.

In addition, all other mandatory corona-protective measures such as masks, hand disinfection and QR code check-in with the “MorChana” app for tracing persons in the Covid-19 case also apply to both events.
