Pattaya police arrested 21 people at a party in Soi Buakhao

Of course, parties are organized here and there, also in Pattaya, because there they know better than anyone that life can be a party, but you have to hang the garlands yourself.

However, last weekend a party fell into the water due to police action, in which 21 people were arrested. The event took place in front of the Tree Town Market in Soi Buakhao, where the police put an end to the fun just before 9 pm.

We all know that Pattaya and the rest of Chon Buri province are coloured a dark red, implying maximum controls, with gatherings of more than 5 people being strictly prohibited and gatherings of any size involving alcohol are also prohibited. The restrictions are regulated by the implementation of the National Emergency Decree and Communicable Disease Act, as well as a local ordinance of the Chonburi Provincial Health Service.

The concern of several neighbours about the spread of Covid19 was the origin of this police action. When a police patrol was sent to the party site, they found a group of 3 Thais and 18 foreigners. Police reported that partygoers were drinking alcohol, which violates current Covid19 restrictions and violation of the gathering ban.

According to local police, the partygoers appeared to blatantly flout all existing Covid19 security measures and were all arrested and taken to the police station where they currently reside. The group faces multiple legal charges and may face jail terms of up to 2 years and fines of up to 40,000 baht due to applicable emergency ordinances.

The identity of the partygoers was not made public.
