Police Colonel Thitisan, aka Jo Ferrari, fired from Nakhon Sawan for alleged theft, dead suspect in custody

The chief commissioner of Nakhon Sawan Provincial Police Station has been fired from the police for alleged bribery and the death of a drug suspect in custody. His nickname came into existence due to the fact that he owned many sports cars, including a Lamborghini limited-edition Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversary special.

National Police Chief General Suwat Jangyodsuk said he had signed the resignation order after Colonel Thitisan Utthanaphol allegedly demanded 2 million baht from a male and a female suspect in a drug case before allegedly suffocating the man with a plastic bag to August 5.

The inspector would then have told the doctor that the cause of death was due to a drug overdose. He also reportedly told the woman to keep quiet before releasing her, prompting some police officers to file a complaint against Thitisan with the Interior Department.

“I have instructed the Interior Department to investigate this matter immediately,” he said.

“Police General Suchart Theerasawat, head of home affairs, revealed that 13 police officers were involved in this case based on CCTV footage and reports from officers.

“I have also contacted the Border Police, Immigration Police and other related departments to closely monitor the accused agents to prevent them from leaving the country,” Suwat said.

“We will also examine Thitisan’s financial records to find out if other parties are involved.”

He added that if the inspector was found guilty, he would face disciplinary action and criminal charges to set an example for the more than 200,000 police officers across the country that every action has consequences.
