A Covid19 outbreak has occurred at the Si Sa Ket police station in the Isaan in which as many as 51 of the 60 officers have tested positive for the feared virus, the provincial public health agency announced yesterday.

Si Sa Ket provincial public health doctor revealed the virus outbreak from Nam Klieng provincial police station on Wednesday. A large number of officers became infected after an officer at the station felt sick on Sunday and tested positive for Covid-19.

A total of 51 police officers have been found with the infection, of the 60 whole officers at the station, while the remaining nine must be quarantined and retested for the virus.

“The officials examine each officer’s timeline for high-risk activities, such as catching criminals or patrolling communities. The family of these agents will also be needed for the virus test,” according to the provincial GGD.
