Pornhub says traffic surged during Facebook outage

Must read

The worldwide Facebook outage was the talk of the town last Monday. Due to the outage, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp could not be used for any less than six hours. And you know how it goes in difficult times: people are often looking for something to grab onto. That was taken quite literally according to Pornhub.

The popular porn website reports that it saw an increase in the number of website visitors during the very long outage. Pornhub experienced a whopping 10.5 per cent increase. That would amount to roughly half a million additional visitors during each hour that the Facebook outage was in progress.

According to Pornhub, a similar increase in website visitors was also seen when there was a Facebook outage on March 13, 2019. On that day, according to Pornhub, there was a 72 per cent increase in celebrity searches. For example, Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Cardi B and Rihanna were searched. The only male celebrity sought after was Cristiano Ronaldo. It is not (yet) known what the people searched for last Monday.
