Prime Minister Prayut wishes “Dear Lisa” a speedy Covid19 recovery

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has said he has sent Thai K-pop group BlackPink singer Lalisa Manoban his moral support after she contracted the Covid19 virus.

“All Thais and I wish Lisa to get well soon,” said the Prime Minister after the presentation of the SME Excellence Awards 2021 and Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards 2021 during a ceremony at the Athenee Hotel in Bangkok.

Lisa is the only Thai member of the famous K-pop group BlackPink from South Korea. Band manager YG Entertainment confirmed earlier this week that she was infected with the coronavirus.

The company also announced that the other three members of the group – Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo – are currently awaiting their PCR test results, but notes that none of the three are “classified as close contact yet”.

“We first shared this information quickly and accurately with representatives and staff, and we took strong preventive measures even outside the guidelines of the health authorities,” the Soompi website quoted YG as saying. “We will not hesitate to provide full support for the health of our artists and associated collaborators, which is our top priority.”

Meanwhile, Twitter user @TopTrendThai reported on Thursday morning that the hashtag #GetWellSoonLisa is now trending globally at number 1 on Twitter.
