Last weekend, another building in the Krabi prison grounds was set on fire, this time at the facility for handling Covid-19 cases after the initial uprising.

The Krabi Pitakpracha Foundation reported that fire quickly spread in a prison dormitory. No further information was released.

Channel 7 News later reported that some prisoner leaders had set the fire and that it was extinguished in the evening.

According to the Thai PBS, 14 inmates were injured when guards fired rubber bullets to stop the riot and 31 leaders were arrested.

The most recent incident happened over the weekend when health and security officials tried to test inmates with rapid antigen kits before moving some to other prisons, Thai PBS reported.

According to the PBS, about 400 inmates have been transferred to other prisons so far, leaving about 1,700 on-site. All the remaining inmates would later be transferred to another nearby prison.
