Dr Tharet Krutnairawiwong, director-general of the Department of Health Support Support, said Covid19 is still on the list of Universal Emergency Coverage (UCEP), so private hospitals cannot deny patients medical services or charge them for the services. present.

Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had previously said that Covid19 treatments would be removed from the UCEP list from early March.

Tharet said some private hospitals have misunderstood the statement and have started collecting medical expenses from some Covid-19 patients, in violation of the Hospitals Act of BE 2541 (1998).

Tharet said that if the Ministry of Health has not made an announcement to formally remove the Covid19 treatment from UCEP, all hospitals must strictly adhere to the previous announcement regarding the treatment of the disease.
