Rangers in Chiang Rai kill two drug smugglers during a firefight and seized 195 kilos of ‘ice’
In the Doi Charakhae area of Chiang Rai, a gunfight between 15 drug smugglers and rangers erupted yesterday, in which 2 drug smugglers were killed in the bullet rings and the rangers seized 195 kilograms of ‘ice’.
The street value of the seized drugs was estimated at 15 million baht.
The rangers heard that a large amount of drugs was being transported and went on patrol, they found 15 men with bags. When the rangers showed up, the equal men started firing. The gunfight ended after 10 minutes, and rangers found two people from the other side dead.
Pha Muang Force commander Maj General Narit Thavornwong ordered officials to investigate the incident and officials believe the bodies found were those of Wa ethnic people.
