The curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. in Bangkok will be strictly enforced by people living in the Din Daeng flats, the Metropolitan Police said yesterday. This order was issued to prevent chaos as anti-government protesters continue to hold demonstrations in the area.

The Police spokesman General Krisana Pattanacharoen announced yesterday that riot police have been in the process of locking down the Din Daeng area since Thursday during the curfew time from 4 pm to 4 am as the Thalu Gas group often gathers and causes chaos in that time. The police have announced that residents of Din Daeng must remain strictly behind their front doors during the curfew.

The spokesman said this move will aim to prevent the protesters or outsiders from infiltrating the Din Daeng flat community by deploying troops to tightly guard the doors and areas within several alleys.

“The officers are fulfilling their duty to maintain order for the people in the area. We ask for your cooperation and understanding. The officials are monitoring the situation to see whether the operation should be carried out daily or not,” the police said.
