Residents of Pattaya complain about the many potholes in the road, couple sustains serious injuries
People in the Pattaya area are reporting injuries from potholes in the road. Others complain about the poor infrastructure of the Pattian roads on social media.
The sinkholes, as they are called kek today, are the result of recent heavy flooding in the area. But also the closing of roadblocks by the municipal public works often if not always leaves something to be desired, according to the population of this coastal town.
Weerawan Chaisorn, 26, told a local reporter, that she was riding a motorcycle with her boyfriend last weekend when they ran into a big hole. She says there was no warning signposted and gone from one moment to the next was hole cheese.
It was only after this accident had happened to them that warning signs were put up.
“I suffered a minor injury while my friend suffered serious injuries. He is still being treated at the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. No one has contacted us for compensation or responsibility for the accident, despite complaints to the city authorities.”
Pattaya residents believe that Pattaya’s water supply department has renovated the water system, which is partly the cause of the sinkholes. They say the road was repaired after being complained about, but the problems keep coming back.
The local population wants others to be aware of the dangers of road use in their area. This, in turn, has sparked heated conversations on social media about the state road. Many have agreed to similar experiences in the area.
