A flower seller working on the road in Prachinburi stated that he would give all earnings to help flood victims in Thailand right now. INN News reported the story with a picture of the flower boy wearing a sign around his neck standing by a local road intersection. The sign stated, “All earnings from today will be given to flood victims”.
Flower sellers are often seen walking on the road when the cars are stuck in red light. The job is rough as it requires standing in the bright sun all day. Drivers usually buy the flowers as a gift to amulets inside the car, it also gives a fresh scent to the vehicle. The price of a flower is about 20 THB.
Chatri is originally from Chachoengsao province. He explains that he has been following the news on the flood affecting provinces and feels extremely sad for the victims. He also saw how one of Thailand’s leading celebrity Bin Bunluerit has been working so hard to help the people, even putting his own money in to help.
This inspired him to help fellow Thai citizens and he decided this was his way to make a better change. He has been selling flowers on the road for a while now and makes enough money to live comfortably. All earnings made on 17 September 2019 will be sent into the account designated to help flood victims.
Right after all the flowers sold out, Chatri went to the SCB Bank and deposited all the money made which was about 1,000 THB into Bin Bunluerit’s account. When the bank heard about how Chatri worked so hard to give all his earnings to help the flood victims, the manager in the bank came out to take a picture with him. The manager also put in 1,000 THB to help.
Chatri’s kind act inspired drivers that saw him, they came to the back later in the day and put some more money in for the good cause. This story is a good reminder that there is no shame in being a good person, the little acts can bring inspiration to others that make a real difference to help those who need it.
