The Director-General of the Department of Corrections (DoC), Aryut Sinthopphan, said about 32,000 inmates will be released – 22,000 of whom will be released immediately, while about 9,100 others will be reduced to a point of parole. can be considered.

A total of 138,175 inmates will benefit from the pardon reduction in prison terms, the department head said after the birthday pardon was announced in the Royal Gazette yesterday.

According to the department, 224,674 of the 282,620 detainees in its custody have been convicted of their offences.
