Earlier this week, many senior police officers from the Royal Thai Police gathered to ask “what to do with Songkran”.

They used the latest software in the form of Clubhouse (closed video conference) headed by General Roy Ingkhaphairoj, Siam Rath reported.

The high-ranking party collectively came up with a widespread plan to ensure Songkran would be safe this year.

This included a set of rules to be followed at checkpoints and other procedural matters.

An item of this 8-point checklist was that the police must act decisively against prostitution and brothels if they notice that the law is being broken there.

General Ingkhaphairoj promised crackdowns on local police if they are foolish enough to turn a blind eye to what is happening in their jurisdiction.

About 50% of the entire police force will be directly deployed in Songkran-related activities.

The police hierarchy also demanded that individual police stations come up with clear plans for Songkran.

So keep your pants up this year!
