Shooting season 3 of ‘The Witcher’ temporarily stopped due to corona infection

Must read

Fans of The Witcher will have to wait a little longer for season 3 of the hit Netflix series. The recordings of the new season have been stopped due to one or more corona infections, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

The entertainment website reports the news after rumors circulated on the internet that lead actor Henry Cavill recently tested positive for the coronavirus. In a statement, Netflix said that “shooting has been temporarily halted and will resume as soon as it is safe to do so. ” It has not been confirmed whether Henry Cavill is actually infected with the virus.

It is not the first time that the recordings of The Witcher have been stopped because of corona. For example, production of season two was also stopped in 2020, so the season was released more than a year later than planned

A release date for season three of The Witcher has yet to be announced, but fans still have plenty to look forward to. For example, it was announced last year that Netflix plans to make even more movies and series within the fantasy series universe, including the prequel The Witcher: Blood Origin .
