Suspect in Brooklyn subway train shooting called in the tip that led to his arrest, sources say

New York police have arrested a 62-year-old suspect in the attack that took place yesterday at a Brooklyn subway station. The police announced this in a tweet.

Yesterday, a $50,000 reward was offered for the tip that would lead to the arrest of 62-year-old Frank R. James. James is suspected of the shooting at the subway station in which at least 10 people were hit by a bullet. A total of 29 people were injured. According to various media, his firearm was blocked, which may have ensured that there were no more victims. It is now known that none of the injured are in life-threatening condition.

Police tracked down the suspect after a key to a rental car was found at the crime scene. The car was found at the station where James probably got on the subway. The metro station where the shooting took place has reopened today.

Although the police do not yet assume a terrorist motive, the messages of the man on social media are labelled as ‘worrying’. For example, the man was especially angry about racism in the United States and criticized Mayor Adams of New York. The mayor’s security has since been tightened.
