• Gen.Prayut joins US-ASEAN Business Council dinner in USA.

    The Prime Minister of Thailand Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha and the Minister of Defence from the Ministry of Defense joined the special dinner in the USA on the special occasion of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC). The PM gave a speech under the topic “Fostering Partnership for Common Prosperity” on 26 September 2019. He is seen wearing a buttoned navy suit, a light blue necktie, two golden pins on the left collar, his name card, and glasses.

    Gen. Prayut showed appreciation in the good relations between Thailand and the US-ASEAN Business Council. The PM stated that the Thai government sees the importance of the business aspects between Thailand and the USA. This is represented through multiple meetings throughout the year. We are willing to take a step forward in finding funds to support and to create a welcoming atmosphere to support investments. Gen.Prayut enhanced that Thailand is a strong competitor in the business world, especially in terms of Thailand’s geography and resources. Thailand is located in the middle of Southeast Asian and ASEAN, playing a major advantage in connecting to the continental market and to a global level.

    In the past 5 years, the Thai government has improved in the competition by building strong roots to the Thai economy. This included investments, and creating a goal plan through Thailand 4.0 to increase the value of Thai made products with technology and innovation. Thailand has been pushing the EEC project along with the Thailand +1 regulations, developing the law and the internal organization. Last year in 2018, the success shown in an overall increase of 4.1% in the Thai economy. This year in 2019, it is expected that the growth will move down to 2.7 – 3.2% as a result connected to the world economy.
