  • Son cries for mom after being arrested with Kratom Leaf.

The Nakhon Sithammarat Police arrested Arthit 25 years old while he was drinking kratom water from boiling the kratom leaves. While the police told him to get into the police truck Arthit kept crying and calling out for his mother. He screamed with tears for mom to come to bail him out. The mother insisted that this time she’s no longer helping him escape his actions.

Villagers in the area know Arthit’s reputation for his kratom use. They know that you can find him every day boiling the leaves and drinking it. His family and others that know him are really bored with his actions over and over. The suspect has been arrested before but as soon as he is free, Arthit returns straight back to boiling the leaves he loves.

It is reported that while on the way to the police station, the suspect never stopped crying. The officers tried to calm him down and told him everything will be ok but Arthit still had heavy tears running down his face like a baby. No matter how hard he tries to look for mercy, he has been charged accordingly to his crimes of use and possession of kratom.

Arthit’s mother insists that this time she won’t be helping him with the case. Let the police and the law deal with him as a life lesson as he has been caught before. • ONCB confirms, LSD Blotters not an issue in Thailand.

There have been messages circulating online warning Thai parents about LSD Stamps or commonly referred to as LSD Blotters. The message states that there is a new type of drug in Thailand that comes in the form of stamps with fun prints on them and that they are spreading amongst Thai children and teenagers, parents are to keep an eye out for these strange-looking stamps.

Niyom Termsrisuk from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) reported on 23 November 2019 that LSD Blotters are not common in Thailand. The stamps are made out of paper with colorful and fun prints on them. The paper is then soaked with Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) a hallucinogenic drug in the psychedelics. Using the drug is often referred to as going on a “trip”.

LSD in small doses such as from an LSD blotter causes a change in the mood, vision, senses, and more. In large doses, it can cause hallucinations and extreme perception changes. The drug is famous for its colorful visual effects.  Other popular names include Acid, Lucy, and trips. To use LSD blotters you simply place it on your tongue. When the effects start kicking in the feeling of happiness comes in, but when overused users can become violent towards others or towards themselves in the form of suicidal thoughts.

LSD blotters are not common in Thailand and they are certainly not spreading. Since 2016 only 3 cases have been recorded with 1 case each from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Surat Thani. All of these cases were arrested in tourist areas and all suspects were foreigners.

The message sent to the parents has information that is true and it is good to be careful of drugs. But there is no need to be suspicious of your children as LSD blotters are not popular in Thailand.
