TAT expects the country to earn THB 600 billion in tourism revenue this year

Total tourism revenues in 2021 will be about 600 billion baht from 350,000-400,000 foreign tourists who have travelled to Thailand since the country reopened on Nov. 1, said Yuthasak Supasorn, the governor of Thailand’s tourism authority.

The tourists are said to have made a total of 90 million trips across the country, generating about 360 billion baht indirect revenue, he said.

More than 130,000 foreign tourists have entered Thailand so far in December. It is carried out that the whole month will attract 200,000 visitors.

The TAT is closely monitoring the Covid-19 Omicron situation below the government has cancelled the Test & Go scheme and temporarily closed registration for the Thailand Pass, the number of foreign tourists will decrease by the end of the year, Yuthasak said.

The TAT has set a goal of creating 1 trillion to 1.5 trillion baht in revenue for the tourism industry by 2022, seeing in the 10 million foreign tourists and a whopping 120 million travel by Thais.
