Teen wanted for murder surrendered to police

Police have confirmed the arrest of the main suspect in the murder of 18-year-old Nakarin Sombun in Rawai. His assailant, 19-year-old Bunyapat (Not) Petcharat, volunteered at the Wichita police station at about 3:00 am on November 11, about eight hours after the killing.

Colonel Sarawut Chuprasit, chief of Chalong police, explained that by the time the suspect was handed over, the police already had a warrant for his arrest.

Based on the document, Bunyapat will be charged with group assault resulting in injury or death; carrying a knife in a public place; violation of the boundaries of private property by an armed person. Bunyapat handed over the clasp knife, which was used to commit the murder, to the police.

As previously reported, the murder of 18-year-old Nakarin Sombun arrived at the Chalong police station at around 19:00 Wednesday, November 10. Arriving at the indicated address, the police and rescuers found a seriously wounded young man who had received at least ten knife wounds and was unconscious.

Rescuers carried out the necessary procedures on the spot, after which an ambulance took the victim to the Chalong Hospital. However, the doctors failed to save the life of the young man.

Colonel Chuprasit clarified a number of circumstances of the attack, which were previously described incorrectly or not at all. In particular, the officer pointed out that Nakarin had a certain conflict with Bunyapat, against the background of which the latter, in the company of two other young people and two girls, came to the young man.

The group arrived at the victim’s house on two motorcycles, after which Bunyapat went inside and started a fight with Nakarin. After some time, the conflicting people left the premises and continued to fight in the street. Colonel Chuprasit did not specify at what point Bunyapat took out the knife, but confirmed that he had inflicted at least ten blows on the enemy.

“After that, the suspects left the scene on their motorcycles. The victim was still alive at that moment. He was taken to Chalong Hospital and died in the hospital, ”said Colonel Chuprasit.

At the moment, only Bunyapat has been detained. The boys and girls accompanying him were put on the wanted list. According to the head of the Chalong Police, the investigators know their names.

According to the warrant, all five will face identical charges, Colonel Chuprasit added.

The officer did not say anything about the essence of the conflict between the young people, which resulted in the murder.
