Thai lady caught because she set his motorcycle on fire due to broken promises by her ex-husband

Police have tracked down the perpetrator, who earlier this week set fire to a motorcycle and five more bicycles in a nearby parking lot in Bangkok.

It would be about a Thai woman who was so angry that he did not keep his promise to her that she fired his engine out of anger.

The woman was caught on CCTV footage pouring gasoline on a motorcycle and setting it on fire before getting into a taxi and driving away. The fire then spread to five more motorcycles parked nearby.

The incident took place in the parking lot of Srinakharinwirot University in the Asok area.

The motorcycle owner told police that the suspected arsonist was his ex-wife. The couple had split up three months ago and he believes she is still struggling with heartache.

Yesterday, a 36-year-old woman, identified only as Kanokwan, was located in a room in Bangkok’s Khlong Toei neighbourhood. Police added that the suspect hid in her closet to avoid being found.

The woman reportedly confessed to setting the bike on fire, saying she did it because her ex broke his promise to sell his bike to pay off his sister’s debts.

She also claimed that she planned to report her actions to the police in due course.

The woman has been charged with damaging other people’s property.
