Thai man dies after vaccination, his family receives compensation

Must read

The National Health Bureau, NHSO has transferred 400,000 Baht to the family of a 50-year-old man who died after being vaccinated. He developed severe breathing problems and died five days later.

The family received the highest amount the NHSO pays for side effects after vaccination. The 400,000 baht is also justified by the fact that the father was the sole breadwinner of the family.

Eight vaccinated Thais from Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Sing Buri, Ang Thong and Nakhon Nayok received further payments totalling 69,000 Baht.

The fees are set as follows:

• Up to 400,000 baht in case of death or serious disability.

• Up to 240,000 baht for organ loss or disability.

• Up to 100,000 Baht in case of injury or illness.

Affected individuals or families can request reimbursement from government hospitals, health departments, or NHSO offices. If a legitimate payment has been made after five days, the amount cannot be recovered after an autopsy or medical examination.
