Thai man goes in search of food in Pattaya but is found dead in the graveyard moments later

A man went in search of food near Pattaya and was found dead moments later in a cemetery in Pattaya. The family of the 35-year-old man says he did not have any illness before his death.

Nongrue police were alerted to a dead body above ground in the new cemetery, which was built by the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation. Police and local news arrived on the scene and discovered the body of 35-year-old Anucha Pansukkhum in a remote part of the cemetery.

Police say the body showed no signs of injury and Anucha’s motorcycle was found parked nearby. The man’s wife says her husband left their home to look for food and wood. Adding that Anucha often only scratched around the graveyard

“My daughter called me later in the evening to tell me that my husband had been found unconscious in the cemetery by a motorcycle taxi driver. We later realized that he had died tragically.”

Panida says Anucha had no underlying health problems, but also admitted that her husband may have never visited a hospital in his life. The police say they are carrying out a Covid19 test on the body as a precaution.

Cemeteries in Thailand are not as well represented as in other countries as Thais tend to cremate their dead. According to a local newspaper, cemeteries are often used for Chinese residents or Thais of Chinese descent.
