Thai public may need full vaccination or negative Covid19 test to shop from next month
The Ministry of Health announced yesterday that shoppers may need vaccination certificates or a negative Covid-19 test from next month to visit shops in shopping centres.
The head of the Ministry of Health Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchai said the new “Covid-Free Setting” measure would be enforced from October according to the infection situation.
The measure includes three aspects:
1. Covid-free environment: many touched surfaces are cleaned every 1-2 hours, shop products cleaned regularly, air-conditioning system cleaned every 3 months, one must use HEPA air filtration system or install local air filter device, and meetings are prohibited item at any time.
- Covid-free staff: All staff must be fully vaccinated or contracted and recovered from Covid-19 within the past 1-3 months. Employees must be screened employees every day with the ThaiSafe Thai system which includes a self-test with antigen kits every 7 days. Workers are also not allowed to gather or eat together and must follow universal infection controls.
- Covid-free customers: screening with the “Thai Safe Thai” platform or other government screening apps before going to stores.
To enter high-risk businesses such as restaurants, beauty salons and hairdressers, customers must be able to show proof of full vaccination, a history of infection within the past 1-3 months, or a negative ATK test within the past 7 days.
Also, business operators must adhere to provincial disease controls.
