A soldier in Nonthaburi province, central Thailand, is said to have attacked his neighbors after the neighbor honked the motorbike horn for a long time to let his wife know he was home.
The victims, 39-year-old Piamsuk Bunruang and 42-year-old Alisa Choksinsombun, reported the attack to the police yesterday. The Thai newspaper Sanook News reports that the soldier beat the man and tried to strangle the woman during the attack. Footage of the incident is said to have captured the soldier attacking the couple.
Footage of the incident shows Piamsuk standing at a gate talking to another man. Then a man in a yellow shirt appears next to the house, walks over to Piamsuk and punches him in the face. Piamsuk then fell to the ground. The yellow-shirted attacker then tried to open the gate, only to find it locked. So the attacker climbed through the gate instead. Alisa then stormed out of the house to stop the man, who then strangled her and pushed her against the fence.
Another neighbor witnessed the violent scene and ran to intervene. Piamsuk also managed to get up around this time and tried to placate the attacker who hit him again. The attacker then climbed back over the fence and joined a small group of people.
Piamsuk believes the incident happened because he honked his motorcycle and yelled at the soldier after the honk to ask what the sound was. Piamsuk says he usually honks his motorbike to let his wife know that he has returned home and that his wife can now arrange dinner. He says he never argued with this neighbor before being punched in the face, but says they talked amicably before and even greeted each other as neighbors do.
Recently, in another communications incident that went wrong, a man allegedly killed another man after the victim stared at him for too long.
