Thai woman chained to hospital bed in Pattaya after chopping husband into pieces with butcher knife

A female suspect who allegedly chopped her husband into pieces with a butcher knife in Pattaya is now chained to her bed in a hospital in Chonburi.

Pattaya police were notified after midnight yesterday (May 4) of the incident at a house in a private residential area in Banglamung.

The police, aid workers and a local reporter, arrived at the house and found the naked body of Khun Burin Bamrungphon aka ‘Geng’ 23 years old, in the bathroom.

The man had stabs and cuts on his face, neck and chest. The bathroom was covered with blood from the victim, according to those who took a look at the scene of the crime.

The suspect, the 24-year-old wife of Khun Burin, Khun Aranya Sermsap aka “Bow”, is said to have told her father that he murdered her husband, which led to her arrest yesterday afternoon.

Police said the couple had been together for three years. They have a son of eighteen months and a daughter of three months. According to the police, the children are currently living with relatives.

After questioning witnesses and her family members, the police believed that the suspect may have been jealous of her husband and suspected that he was cheating on her, although this has not yet been proven.

The suspect is now in custody and under police surveillance at a local hospital for injuries sustained in the attack on her husband.

Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action. The suspect was not allowed to speak to the press and did not issue a statement to the media. It is not known whether she currently has a lawyer.
