The Thai Immigration Service has extended the so-called Covid-19 visa for foreigners stranded in the kingdom due to the pandemic.

The visa allowed a stay until March 30. Foreigners can now apply for a 60-day extension of Covid-19 until May 29, 2021, allowing them to stay in the country until July 27.

The new order was approved by the head of immigration, Sompong Chingduan. The application must be submitted in-person to an immigration office and certain additional documents may be required depending on where the foreign national is from.

The cost of the extension is 1,900 baht. As a result, people leaving the kingdom will be stranded and unable to return to their own country to stay in Thailand for any length of time.
