Thailand has a new record of 178 Covid19 fatalities and 18,912 new infections

The country had a record 178 new Covid19 deaths and 18,912 new infections in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said Saturday morning.

There were 18,102 infections recorded in the general population and 810 in penal institutions, while 10,750 Covid19 patients were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours.

Since April 1, when the third wave of Covid-19 began, there have been 568,424 Covid-19 patients, of whom 364,494 have recovered.

Since the pandemic started early last year, there have been 597,287 Covid-19 cases, of which 391,920 have recovered.

The death toll was 4,763 in the third wave and 4,857 as of the start of the pandemic early last year.

The previous highest number of daily Covid-19 deaths with 165 ended. reported on Thursday. The previous record of new broadcasts at 17,669 was also reported on Thursday.

The health ministry said on Friday that the country can prevent the new daily number of Covid-19 deaths from reaching 200 with accelerated vaccinations and TWO MONTHS of lockdown measures.
