Thailand prepares to open 120 new hotels across the country

Thailand is on the way to opening 120 new hotels in the coming years, the new hotel stock will be almost 30 thousand rooms

Most of the new hotels will be opened in the capital of Thailand, Bangkok, the resorts of Phuket and Pattaya also expect an influx of debut hotels. A total of 120 new hotels across Thailand will open to guests in the coming years, with a total of 29,861 rooms, according to the Tophotelprojects construction database published on the official website.

Of these projects, which are in various stages of planning and development, 64 hotels with 17,666 rooms will be in the four-star category, and 56 properties with a total of 12,195 rooms will be in the five-star category.

This year promises to be a particularly busy one in Thailand with the opening of 38 hotels. Another 22 properties are due to open in 2023, 18 in 2024 and 42 in 2025.

Bangkok will host 47 hotels with 12,089 rooms. Phuket will open 16 hotels with 3,383 rooms and Pattaya will open 15 hotels with 4,896 rooms.

The dominant brand contributing to this growth includes Citadines Apartments, which will open five 945-room hotels nationwide; InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, which has five 932-room hotels planned; and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, which is opening four 2,334-room hotels in Thailand.

New hotels in Phuket.

Exciting properties set to debut in Thailand include Radisson Phuket Mai Khao Beach, due to open in early 2023, and Tri Vananda opening in Phuket in late 2022.

Radisson Phuket Mai Khao Beach is located on the northwest coast of Phuket, just 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport and provides direct access to Mai Khao Beach. When complete, the resort will include 222 rooms and suites.

These accommodations will be complete with amenities such as a large lagoon-shaped outdoor pool, well-equipped fitness centre, spa, kids club and restaurants, including an all-day restaurant specializing in Asian and European fare, a speciality restaurant and a lobby lounge. Events will be held in two meeting rooms.

The luxurious Tri Vananda will accommodate guests on a hillside, about 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, dotted with lakes and gardens. The 298-room complex will consist of villas and a wellness resort focused on integrative and functional medicine and cognitive well-being.

Amenities at the property will include a medical centre with consultation rooms, physical therapy and traditional Chinese medicine treatment rooms, a cognitive wellness centre, health diagnostic facilities and a lakefront mindfulness centre.

The lakeside spa will feature thermal rooms, relaxation areas, hammams, private spa suites and a fitness centre with a 50-meter pool, juice bar and water sports dock.

Families will be served by a special club for teens and pre-school children that promotes a healthy lifestyle.
