YALA, 24th July 2018  – Her Excellency Saida Muna Tasneem, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Thailand, visited Yala province this week to seek cooperation on the employment of Bangladeshi workers.

H.E Saida Muna Tasneem was welcomed by a group of local government officials from the provincial city hall and the local employment office. She met with Yala Governor Anuchit Trakulmututa to discuss the possibility of the province hiring Bangladeshi nationals to work in Yala province where there is still a shortage of workers.

Migrant workers in Yala, who work mostly as construction workers and housekeepers, are from Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. Bangladeshi workers could be employed by construction companies as construction workers are in high demand.

Her visit to the southern province was seen as a positive move to promote stronger Thai-Bangladeshi relations and both economies.
