Thailand’s King Rama X and Queen Suthida, 70, tested positive for Covid-19, couple recommended sick leave

The Royal Court Bureau released a statement Saturday saying that Mahi Vachiralongkorn (Rama X) and royal consort Suthida have been confirmed to have the coronavirus. Covid testing of members of the royal family is carried out on a regular basis,” the bureau said in a statement, TASS reported.

The king and queen have mild symptoms of the disease. The monarch and his wife are receiving medication and have been advised to refrain from performing royal duties for a while.

Earlier it was reported that the 44-year-old daughter of the King of Thailand Phatchar Kittiyapha during a training session in the province of Nakhonratchasima lost consciousness. The princess, who was diagnosed with heart problems, was flown by helicopter to the capital’s Chulalongkorn Hospital for treatment.
