The TMD has today warned residents across Thailand of possible flash flooding and runoff due to heavy rainfall.
The Thai Meteorological Institute said there are abundant rain showers across the country today and that scattered heavy to very heavy rains could be spread across the north, northeast, central region, east, and south, including Bangkok and the surrounding area.
“People should watch out for heavy rainfall and stormwater accumulation that can cause flash flooding and overflows, especially along the foothills near waterways and lowlands,” the TMD warned.
It also forecasts strong winds and high waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf, and says waves can be 2-3 meters high and over 3 meters during thunderstorms.
“All vessels must proceed with caution, while small boats must remain ashore until Friday [September 9],” the TMD added.
