The Thai administrative centre for the Covid19 control, the CCSA, yesterday proposed to the cabinet to extend the state of emergency for another two months until the end of July.
The state of national emergency has been in effect since March 2020 and is set to expire at the end of May.
The government can extend the emergency ordinance for a maximum of three months at a time. According to the Ministry of Health, it could take up to two months for the current wave of viruses to be under control.
