The highways in Bangkok will soon have more speed cameras

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) is to place more cameras on highways and in Bangkok to photograph speeding and traffic violations.

The agency has allocated 29 million baht for the operation, EXAT director Surachet Laophulsuk said last weekend.

He added that between April and August of this year, 217,316 motorists had been caught violating the traffic law. Of them, 197,661 drove too fast and 19,655 miscreants drove over the verge strip.

“The EXAT and the police will continue to work together to prevent accidents on highways,” the governor said.
