The Pattaya Municipal Works Department has been tasked with repairing the heavy damage to Jomtien Beach Road as soon as possible.
Jomtien Beach Road is expected to remain closed for at least a week as the earthworks work to repair the damage caused by the severe storm last week.
Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome instructed the city council works to complete the repairs within a week and renovate the surface.
On Sept. 11, an unnamed spokesperson said his team is working hard to meet the mayor’s stated deadline, but much depends on weather conditions. Additional rain may cause delays.
Road closures have been put in place to discourage traffic from passing through the area in front of the Grand Jomtien Palace Hotel. Motorists are advised to look for alternative routes.
