The King of Thailand donates more than 2.8 billion Baht for treatment of Covid patients

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has donated more than 2.8 billion baht of his personal finances to hospitals and institutions treating Covid19 patients, Chulabhorn Royal Academy announced this weekend.

A Facebook post on the Chulabhorn Royal Academy page said that 27 hospitals, medical colleges and clinics across the country had received a total of Baht 2.4 billion to purchase medical equipment and other supplies.

Meanwhile, Siriraj Hospital received a royal donation of 100 million baht for the construction of the Navamindrapobitr 84th Anniversary Building.


In addition, Baht 345 million was donated for medical equipment and other supplies in 44 national prisons and their hospitals.

The Chulabhorn Royal Academy said it was grateful for the kindness of HM the King and his concern for the well-being of Covid-19 patients and medical professionals.

The announcement was made on the occasion of the king’s upcoming birthday on July 28, it added.
