The major vaccination campaign begins on June 7 in 76 Thai provinces

The Thai Ministry of Health has announced that it will start mass vaccinations in 76 provinces from June 7.

According to Secretary of State Dr Kiattiphum Wongrajit, the ministry wants vaccines to be allocated to local health departments in accordance with the State Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

The Committees for Communicable Diseases in each province are responsible for administering mass vaccinations, recording the results of operations, and issuing vaccination certificates to all people who have already received two vaccinations.

Dr Grandpas Karnkawinpong, director of the Department of Disease Control, said the CCSA wants to vaccinate about 50 million people by September this year. He confirmed that there was enough vaccine for everyone.

Both AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines can be given to people 18 years of age and older. The vaccines would be delivered to each county on a weekly rather than monthly basis.
