Chonburi Provincial Health Service announced 56 new and confirmed cases of Covid19 infections this morning (May 13), one fewer than yesterday, but still the lowest number since April 9, 2021.

That brings the total to 3,547 Covid19 infections, of which 1,383 are still under medical care, and with eleven recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections in early April. Another death was recorded today.

In total, 2,153 people have now been discharged from medical care and have fully recovered since the start of this current wave. Yesterday 102 people left the hospital.

The new cases at the district level today were as follows:

Mueang Chonburi with 6, Si Racha 5, Banglamung (including Pattaya) 30, Sattahip 3, Ban Bueang 1, Phan Thong 5, Ko Chan 1, Nong Yai 1, and 4 people transferred from other provinces to Chonburi for medical care.

Chonburi health officials stated that nearly all new cases are caused by private gatherings, mostly small ones with 2-3 people outside the household drinking or eating together. They continue to urge people not to participate in activities with anyone outside their own household at this time and to continue to work from home if possible and avoid public places.
