The taxis in the capital of Thailand will be equipped with Covid 19 partitions

The Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob yesterday chaired the launch of a project to install anti-Covid walls in taxis in Bangkok.

The project “Taxis with dividing walls in the New Normal” aims to increase safety and confidence in taxi services.

About 3,000 taxis in Bangkok will be equipped with clear acrylic partitions between drivers and passengers at no additional cost to users.

Saksayam said every business sector must comply with the Covid-19 restrictions to increase confidence in health prevention measures.

The high-quality acrylic partitions are supplied by SCG Chemicals and designed not to obstruct visibility or affect the operation or safety of taxicabs, according to the Land Transport Department.

Passengers will provide feedback via a QR code printed on the partition walls before the department decides whether to roll out the taxi distributors nationwide.
