According to a report by “The Thaiger”, the United States government has warned its citizens not to travel to Thailand, citing the risk of infection with Covid-19.

The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs regularly updates travel information for U.S. citizens at Levels 1 through 4. This week Thailand was rated at Level 3.

The four levels are:

Level 1 – take normal precautions.
Level 2 – be extra careful.

Level 3 – Rethink the Journey

Level 4 – no travel.

The American Center for Disease Control (CDC) rates Thailand as “very high” for Covid-19 and advises that only fully vaccinated people should consider travelling to Thailand.

This is in line with Thailand’s current reopening rules, which require all international travellers to be fully vaccinated.

Unvaccinated travellers are warned by the CDC not to travel to Thailand unless absolutely necessary. It warns that anyone travelling to Thailand is at high risk of contracting Covid-19.

The CDC recommends following all Thai regulations, including wearing a face mask and social distancing.
