The incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock during the Oscars ceremony is currently dominating the news and that works out very well for Chris Rock. Ticket sales for his comedy tour have been going really fast since last Sunday.
Chris Rock kicks off his Ego Death World Tour this Saturday, travelling to more than thirty cities across the United States. According to TickPick, one of the largest ticket sellers in the US, more tickets were sold at the Oscars the night after the incident than in the previous month. Tickets are now only available through resellers, but prices have risen sharply since yesterday. Where a ticket cost about 41 euros a week and a half ago, they now sell for more than 300 euros.

Chris Rock apparently got a lot going with his joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith. Leading up to the Oscars, Chris joked that Will Smith’s hairdo wife would make the perfect lead actress for a sequel to GI Jane . In the 1997 film, actress Demi Moore shaved her head to portray the role of GI Jane. The joke went wrong with Will, as his wife suffers from the condition alopecia and therefore struggles with hair loss. After the joke, he walked on stage and punched the Oscar host in the face.
A source reports to TMZ that Chris Rock was unaware of Jada’s condition. The comedian was therefore surprised that Will reacted so violently to the GI Jane joke. Shortly after the incident, Diddy claimed that Will and Chris had settled the argument. However, sources close to Diddy report to TMZ that a conversation between the two never took place.
