TikTok Starts Testing Dislike Button For Comments Which Remains Private: What It Means

Must read

If you upload a nice video to TikTok, you will get an inappropriate or hurtful response out of nowhere. Unfortunately, that happens often enough on the platform. TikTok is therefore going to test a ‘dislike’ button for individual comments on videos. The social media app makes this known in a news story.

TikTok wants users to be able to flag comments they find irrelevant or inappropriate. A marked response is then only visible to the user himself. The feature is currently being tested and within a few weeks, TikTok will decide whether the ‘dislike’ button will be definitively introduced.

TikTok previously introduced a ‘dislike’ button for videos. Users can indicate that they are not interested in certain content. A new measure was introduced in August to better protect underage users. Chatting for minors was made more difficult and new rules were introduced around sending and receiving push notifications in the evening.
