Brit backpacker, 25, hospitalised with ‘serious infection’ in Thailand as dad begs for £25k to bring her home
So far Rebekah’s dad has raised £3,500 out of his £25,000 goal on GoFundMe
THE family of a British tourist hit by a ‘serious infection’ while travelling in Thailand are desperately asking for money to get her back home safe.
Rebekah Fulton, 25, is currently in a hospital in Phuket where she is described as being “very ill.”
Now her dad James has launched a GoFundMe in a bid to fly his stricken daughter home to Paisley, in Renfrewshire, Scotland.
On the appeal, he wrote: “Rebekah is in hospital in Phuket with a serious infection and is very ill.
“I am trying to raise enough funds to get her home as soon as possible as she is way too poorly to fly.
“I am in Phuket with her and I understand that she is well known all over the world through her travels throughout Asia and I am respectfully appealing to everyone to give a little to bring my girl home.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped Rebekah so far and sincerely thank everyone in advance for their support.
“Any surplus funds will be donated to a charity of Rebekah’s choice.”
TRAVELLING FOR YEARS
The Instagram influencer and keen traveller last shared a photo on March 18 of her silhouette against the sunset.
She captioned the photo to her 7,000 followers: “I never met a sunset I didn’t like. #happiness”
Other snaps show the gym bunny paddleboarding, sunbathing as well as basking in the sunshine, and she appears to have been travelling since 2015.
On Facebook, James issued thanks to well wishers who have donated to the campaign – which has raised £3,000 of the £25,000 goal.
He added: “I just want to thank everyone who has helped so far and I have tried to thank you all individually so sorry if I missed anyone.
“As this appeal gathers pace it is becoming apparent how much Rebekah means to a huge amount of people so thanks again for the support.
“I will update everyone on how she is when I can.”
