Yesterday afternoon, the body of a woman from the province of Roi Et was recovered from the sea near Jomtien. Pattaya police said no signs of a physical assault were found on the body.

The victim’s body was seen floating in the sea in the afternoon near Jomtien, more than two kilometers from Bali Hai pier. She was wearing blue jeans, a black tank top, a black backpack and a gold chain which she had in her mouth when she was found.

Pattaya police found the victim’s ID in the backpack, which revealed that her name was Thitinan Nilphan, 44, from Roi Et Province. Police were also reportedly unable to find any evidence of a physical assault on her body. Her estimated time of death was no later than a day.

The victim’s body was taken to a hospital for an extensive autopsy. The circumstances under which she floated in the sea are still under investigation by the Pattaya police.
